Mark 6:32-37

First this is a serious of events that took place while Jesus was seeking rest for Him and His disciples.

He was trying all day long to escape people for rest, in the body and resting in God’s presence.

He just received that His cousin John the Baptist was beheaded and now he is dealing with a group of disciples who lost their teacher.

When He was through confronting them Jesus and his own disciple was on the boat in solitude. The scriptures says the people recognized them. They recognized them on the water that they began to sail behind them and those on land and began to run on foot and beat the boats that followed behind JESUS

When you have Christ with you even when you are on the waters you will be spotted out. People need an desire help. They need us to carry Christ even in our time of trouble. So many times we get on the water and forget and leave Christ on the shore.

The scripture tells us that they could not even find leisure time to eat.

When the boat landed there was a crowd around and His compassion rose and He began to teach them.

and if you read the 35 verse you will see that the day has now gone and the disciples are still searching for a place to get away.

* In the religious attempt of trying to sound as if they care and compassion have wade on the crowd the disciples told Jesus to send them away, so they can go and buy them something to eat.

The first thing I began to notice is that the scriptures read and they came to Him.

Meaning they are not beside Him during the whole time. They are not on their post.

They began to wander off.

Oh come on they began to look at their shoes, decide that the mall sale was more important than standing beside their leader when he is ministering.

Do not act smug as if you have never walked away from the anointing.

Too many times I walked away from my post. The Glory had filled the building and the anointing was busy in operation, yet I wanted to get away. My mind was else where. Hunger caught my attention. Children undisciplined in the moving of God pulled me away.

At the sound as if I cared about the crowed I brought to God attention the time. Come on now you know I am being real.

Me being a servant of the word I had to be looked for.

Then Jesus told them you Give them something to eat yourself.

In other words you did not care enough to feed them that which is spiritual as I was feeding them. You did not care about their soul enough to stand and go past your own needs.

All you thought about was your time of leisure your time of rest.

Now you go and handle the need with out me.

Even though our Jesus was longing for leisure time and hungry His self He still found time to care and serve, those who desire the wholeness of Christ.

Now all of this have lead us down to the message that God wants us to know today.

First thing I want you to notice that they were on a lake and not a sea.

The lake they were on was called the Sea of Galilee.

I’ve preached this before.

Our troubles are small on the outside but when we are in the inside we make it bigger than what it is. We give it a bigger name than what it is.

vs 46 says that Jesus sent the disciples on the boat while He went to hisself and prayed.

After being around a bunch of people all day Jesus needed some lone.

It was not the fact that Jesus was around a bunch of people it was that He was around a bunch of incompetent people.

The word incompetent means useless, not up to it.

It is nothing like being around a bunch of useless people, when you are ministering.

They are suppose to be your wind but they are against your rowing.

People who do not feel up to praising. People who do not feel up to praying for a hour.

Incompetence cause Jesus to separate from His disciples. It was their uselessness that caused Him to send them one direction while He went another.

It amazed me how easy Jesus got away. Nobody was connected enough to know that Jesus was going to pray.

What is painful is thinking you had friends, partners, faithfulness. And soon as it is time to work you see you had no connection in them.

Jesus just got through feeding them.

Soon as you get through praying some out of their sin sick situation. Ministering to their pain. People left them and you still kept seeing good in them.

Many of us have labored and slaved and got them on their feet they showed you that are not with you and they separate.

When Jesus stay on land don’t you dare go on the waters alone.

Jesus is looking for some tag team ministries some people who do not mind working as equally hard with Him.
