As I was writing a sermon to preach RUN TOWARDS YOUR ENEMIES...I found out some powerful info about Goliath...First Goliath, was a Philistine by inhabiting but not by native....
1 Sam 17:4 And a champion went out of the camp of the Philistines named Goliath of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span [almost ten feet].
1 Sam 17:8 Goliath stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel, Why have you come out to draw up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and are you not servants of Saul? Choose a man for yourselves and let him come down to me.
Goliath was an ANAKIM...There were various tribes of Anakim (Josh. 15:14)..... Joshua finally expelled them from the land, except a remnant that found a refuge in the cities of Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod (Josh. 11:22)...... The Philistine giants whom David encountered (2 Sam. 21:15-22) were descendants of the Anakim, that live as a Philistine
I found several definition on this word...Son of Anak...Son of the long necks...Son of the collar...giants a race of giants....but this one stood out ...The Word Anakim Heb. ‘anaqim, means Necklace as if strangling, Chain, To choke, to collar...
Is the decedent of Goliath the Anamkims against the warriors TODAY?
Mark 4:18 And the ones sown among the thorns are others who hear the Word;
Mark 4:19 Then the cares {and} anxieties of the world {and} distractions of the age, and the pleasure {and} delight {and} false glamour {and} deceitfulness of riches, and the craving {and} passionate desire for other things creep in and choke {and} suffocate the Word, and it becomes fruitless.
As a warrior we often face an ANAKIM GIANTS that comes with the attempt to CHOKE, and strangle what God is doing or sending...The devil desire for YOU TO BE BARREN... FRUITLESS....he wants to neutralize the Word with in your life....
Okay let us look more at Goliath here...He was an Alien to Philistia.... but the Philistine was proud of their champion a alien that became a citizen....
{Commentary- Hayford}: Goliath is the picture of a man, supernaturally puffed up by “many devils;” a greatly enlarged man, a giant of a man containing a multitude of evil spirits who are puffing him up, PRIDE, like leaven inside a loaf of bread. What? Do you not yet comprehend that leaven is an alien presence inside bread?
but the Philistine was proud of their champion of this alien...
What have the enemy presented to you that have been puffed up with pride that it became a giant in your life...What leaven or alien is presented to you...We can not look at the size of the problem but keep our eyes towards the hills from which come all of our help....
(Eph 6:12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high {places}.
